Iran "needs" presence in outer space

With shouts of "Allah ho Akbaar" Iran inaugurated its new space centre on the 29th anniversary of the Iranian Revolution.

As Iran now dominates middle east, President Ahmadinejad said Iranians need to head for outer space.

Islamic Republic launched country's first space satellite named Omeed "HOPE 1".

President said building and launching our own satellite is a very important achievement for The Islamic Republic.

In 2007 Iranian successfully developed a rocket able to reach Earth orbit.
