US backed government in Lebanon caved into Hezbollah after the Iranian backed group took over the Lebanese capital Beirut.
CIA wanted Beirut to dismantle Hezbollah's independent mobile phones which the US was "unable to tap".
Hezbollah Chief Hassan Nasrallah said that he would not allow anyone to disconnect guerilla phones.
Nasrallah went on TV saying that such a move by the government is a "declaration of war" which was made on behalf of US and Israel.
Same day the guerilla chief ordered its fighters to close close off the capital city, including the International Airport.
Within 4 days Lebanese government decided to give in to Hezbollah.
Lebanon's Army was powerless to stop Hezbollah take-over of Beirut.
Lebanese lawmakers accuse US and Israel of playing a major role in trying to ignite a civil war in Lebanon.
Saudis also fear Iran's growing power in Middle East.
Saudis were privately urging Israel to invade Lebanon and "destory" the Shi'ite power in Lebanon.
Saudi Ambassador Bandar bin Sultan immediately talked to Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert. Bandar offered Olmert to "pay the cost" of Israeli military action against Hezbollah.
