According to Iran, the food crises is a "political tool".
At the Food Summit in Rome, President Mahmaoud Ahmadinejad of Iran blamed United States for world's food crises.
Soaring food and oil prices are "intentional", said Mr Ahmadinehad.
Iran President said that shortage of food and its high prices are result of a deliberate wish of America. He said US wants to further its "political and economic" aims. Therefore, it "artificially" drives high the price of food and oil. Market for food and oil is completely "manipulated" by United States.
He said there is "plenty" of oil and food on the market.
Iranian leader told the UN delegates that America and Britain deliberately caused the food crises because they wanted to "fill their pockets with money".
Iran accused West of "intentionally" devaluing the U.S. dollar, fueling the rise in oil and food prices. US wants to impose its "will" on the
market.
Iranian President provided a solution to the UN Food Summit, saying he wanted to see the formation of an independent and powerful body, run by the "all the countries" of UN to justly regulate the food market and organize "all food related issues" from production to consumption.
President Ahmadinejad said powerful "criminal" elements control both food and oil prises.
Mr Ahmadinejad said that oil and food prices are kept "artificially high" by "greedy" American officials trying to further political aims of Washington around the world.
These "corrupt" powerful officials must be removed and replaced by "clean management". he told the UN Food Conference.
